The First Years.
- The Union should be lean on three supports: The construction of a GREAT SOCIAL HOUSE-WINE CELLAR with capacity for many grapes. Finding a BANK to give money to moderate interest for the crop that has been collected. A BENEFACTOR willing to buy the grape harvest without haggling ridiculous, but giving to the poors the price of your grapes with a small benefit.
- The beginnings were not easy. The year 1922 was marked as a fateful year. Shortly before harvest fell a hailstorm that hit the area. Destroying the joy of the homes and seeding the pain and the mourning. There was no harvest and the shadow of misfortune, misery and hunger returned again without compassion with the poors.
- However, when the Agricultural Union Catholic of Chipiona was known for the tremendous ruin of its fields. There were two events that alleviated, in part, the distressing situation of the population and the Union.
- First it was the collection of 4,000 pesetas obtained through the request of aid to all the Brother Unions of Spain and second the concession of a loan of 10,000 pesetas that, thanks to the “exact payment of this first commitment”, supposed the beginning of a series of operations of Credit, which they followed one another in the time without interruption, and which allowed us to deal of determined form the project.
- The summer of 1924 was frenetic for the Father Francisco Lara. To the task of finding a rent of a wine cellar for the grape harvest where initiate the work were joined tasks of the purchase of vessels, alcohol for the Muscatel, accounting, organize and direct the grape harvest and her sell.
